Stainless Steel Bunk Caps

The Woodland Mills Stainless Steel Bunk Caps are designed to protect your sawmill’s log bunks while making it easier to turn and position logs during setup. By covering the top surface of each bunk, they reduce wear on the bunk structure and provide a smoother contact surface for logs and cants.

The stainless steel surface reduces friction when rotating or sliding logs into position, helping logs move more easily across the bed. Each cap also features an integrated keystock, allowing you to make your final cut without using a log support, so you can cut as close to the bunk as possible and maximize usable lumber from each log. By preventing direct contact between logs and the bunks, the stainless steel caps also help eliminate staining on certain wood species such as oak, walnut, and cedar.

Each cap is made from 14-gauge (2 mm thick) formed stainless steel and installs directly over the existing bunk surface. Stainless steel mounting hardware is included for secure attachment, creating a durable wear layer that improves both protection and day-to-day log handling on the mill.
