How Clay Makes Money Using His HM130MAX Portable Sawmill

This Youtuber shows the benefits of remote living as he takes his adventures off grid

When Moe Sargi bought his slice of nature in rural Ontario, he was branching out into something refreshingly new.

Every day he produces bold videos investigating the paranormal on his Youtube channel, but now he was braving new territory, something he'd never experienced before...

Becoming the owner of 200 acres of forested land.

"It's always been a dream of mine to own a big piece of land," says Moe. "Recently life changes, three kids now, has made me want to stay closer to home instead of travelling the world like I used to."

And he's been aided in his journey of building up his dream homestead with the aid of his Woodland Mills HM130MAX Portable Sawmill.

"Going out to buy lumber is a long drive for me," says Moe, adding "wood prices keep going up," so the sawmill was a smart investment for him.

From the supernatural to super nature-al

Moe has been on Youtube for years, doing investigations into paranormal phenomena like ghosts and cryptids.

But after re-evaluating his situation and wanting to build up a big, unique home for his family, he decided to settle down and try something new.

He started a new channel, The Sargi Family, which has become dedicated to his property development, though he still does paranormal investigations on his main channel too.

When he started touring properties he says the first one he saw was love at first sight.

"It was the first property I even looked at, the moment I got to it I was like, 'I'll take it.'"

Not only does he own 200 acres now but it's also surrounded by crown land that can't be touched, so he has no neighbors and no bustling city noises around him.

It was quite a journey, says Moe. While he used to be a mechanic before becoming a Youtuber, he says it's been a shock to see how often everything breaks and needs repairing when you own your own land.

"There's a lot of work, you don't stop working," he says. "It's fun, I love it. It's not for everyone, it will teach you a lot about yourself to whether you can actually do it or not."

The sawmill assistance

When Moe started building up his new property he says he had no idea portable sawmills existed. For him all the lumber just came from the hardware store.

So to turn his abundance of trees into useable lumber for his projects has been a delightful surprise.

"I love to learn new skills, every time I see something I've never done, I make it my mission to go and do it," he says.

Moe was entirely self-taught, after watching Youtube videos to learn. Now he's building up and renovating the cabin that came with the land, and he's eventually going to be building a new home for his wife and kids.

Being able to build his own home is also great because he can also build something that suits his family's tastes. Rather than make some "cookie cutter" home in a suburb, he can make something catered to his own preferences and needs.

Remote living

"Wood prices just keep going up," says Moe, noting that he only has one road leading to his property which has fallen into disrepair.

So one of his immediate tasks is fixing up that road. Then he can start bringing in equipment to start new projects, but sourcing lumber from his land has helped save him a lot of time and money.

"Some people might say the mill is out of our reach," says Moe. "If you're able to get one I highly suggest you get one if you have property, it'll save you money in the long run. It's definitely a good investment."

One of his upcoming projects is a shed for his sawmill, as well as potentially expanding his cabin with a new bathroom.

It's all part of the journey to living off the land on his own terms.

"It's all about self-sufficiency and having one of these mills is one of the best ways to be self-sufficient on a property," he says.
