Power Head 80 FAQ

Here's what you need to know about the new power head accessory for your Woodland Mills portable sawmill

With the Power Head 80 attached to your Woodland Mills portable sawmill, you can easily adjust the height of your sawhead with the push of a button.

But how does it work and why might you need one? Let's chat about it and see why the Power Head 80 might be a great addition to your sawmill setup.

What is the Power Head 80?

The Power Head 80 is an upgrade for your Woodland Mills portable sawmill that allows you to raise and lower the sawhead with the push of a button.

You don't have to operate the manual crank to change the height of your mill between each cut. Instead the power head utilizes a motor, gear drive and toggle switch powered by your battery to do the work for you.

Just attach the Power Head 80 and see how quickly and efficiently it automatically lifts and lowers your sawhead, allowing you to make precise cuts with less effort.

What models are compatible with the Power Head 80?

The Woodland Mills portable sawmills which work with this accessory include:

Simply replace the crank handle system on your mill with the power head, following the included instructions, and you will greatly reduce the amount of manual effort while milling significantly.

For those with HM136MAX Portable Sawmills, you may instead want to consider the Power Head 110, which is compatible with that model.

What's included with the Power Head 80?

Inside the box you'll find:

    • The instruction manual containing all the steps needed to install it

    • The Power Head 80 with a gear-drive motor assembly

    • Battery wires

      • For HM126 operators, their setup will also contain the battery mount kit

What's the benefit of using a power head?

Out of the box, the sawmill comes equipped with a crank handle to raise and lower your sawhead manually once you determine the thickness of your cuts.

Some sawyers like having the option to save themselves the manual effort and instead focus their energy on turning the logs and pushing the blade through their logs. Because of that, installing the power head on your sawmill can save you a lot of time and effort.

It can make a big difference in your day-to-day milling.
